When X Muse was submitted for review it was suggested that the reviewer read their "about us" section. I soon discovered that they're on a mission to deliver something different from other sites. They want to bring high quality and class to the world of exotic photography rather than merely churning out slick content en masse. They also describe their models as being educated and creative women with as much to offer on the inside as they do on the outside.
XMuse has 15 videos that give you great-quality playback. There's a 5GB daily download limit though. Now, the vids aren't very long, so I mistakenly assumed that they would merely be recorded photo shoots. However, they are actually vignettes with a bit of a plot and a soundtrack.
The first one I watched has a model going up the stairs while taking her clothes off and then masturbating in a bathtub. She starts pleasuring herself while having a fantasy about another woman. The scene briefly turns black and white as she imagines herself wearing a bridesmaid's veil and nothing else while making out with a girl who is also nude except for a bridal veil. It's very romantic, even if there's certainly enough lesbian action to make it quite sexual.
You'll also find 131 photo galleries that come with high-res images that you can download in Zip files. They make it clear that they care more about quality than they do about quantity, so they choose only the best pics to be featured in each spread. However, you can also find an archive with some of the photos that didn't quite make the grade. They are displayed in smaller frames, but are still quite good.
I like the creativity in the photography here. For example, I simply loved the spread showing a girl dressed as a bride with her female lover with slicked-back, side-parted hair, a dark suit and jaunty fedora. It turns out that the bride has lacey thigh-high stockings under her dress, but she isn't wearing any panties.
Updates get posted weekly and usually involve fresh photos rather than a new video. There are links to some blogs and postings advertising photography workshops and the like. You can also learn a lot about the ladies through the model index and there's always an amusing and illuminating little blurb about each one. Overall, I like the personality shining through on X Muse and it also doesn't hurt that a membership is inexpensive.

I second what was said below. The site in not being updated as often as it was when it first opened, but the photos some of the best I've ever seen! X-muse has a gift for capturing gorgeous women being truly erotic without in-your-face gyno shots. They prove you don't need that to be very hot! There is some explicit content -- they do not shy away from that -- but if you are looking for boring pron, this site is not for you. I especially love the videos. They are well done and well-thought out. Some are very clever and cute and others are actually poignant -- when's the last time you could say that about a video on an adult site? -- and they are all beautiful. Some one should give these people a big budget to make erotic films that are worth the name!

Reasons for kudos: AMAZINGLY gorgeous photos! Super high quality videos with great editing. A very affordable price. Females with ACTUAL personality. Some of my all time favorite nude models can be found here. X-Muse has an uncanny ability to find the kind of women that legend comes from. I get off on portrayals of the eroticism and sensuality of the feminine that involves actual artistry, and that is a niche in the adult community that is almost entirely neglected. This is the first site I've found that is able to deliver that sort of quality. Possible deterrents - There isn't a vast amount of explicit photography and the videos are very much soft-core. The site is on the newer side and isn't updated daily, hence there aren't copious amounts of pictures or video. That being said, I don't think that is the point of this site. There are single photos in this collection that merit real appreciation and attention (gallery walls sort of quality), and if there's 100,000 images, they just tend to get lost in the mix. Besides, one simply can't create 100,000 gallery quality images. Content over quantity. Bottom line: If you are purely looking for straight up porn, this site will disappoint. If you are wanting erotic art that is actually art and want to look at truly stunning images of the female body and spirit, there is no site parallel to this.
